Water that gets past a roof doesn’t drip straight down. It runs along the underlayment, the deck, and the rafters, sometimes several feet, before it finds a place to drip. The stain on your ceiling is where it ended up — not where it started.
That’s why so many leak “repairs” don’t hold. Someone seals the spot above the stain, the real entry point stays open, and the leak is back with the next heavy rain.
We work backward from the stain: the attic, the decking, then the roof surface, flashing, and penetrations above it. Once we find the actual entry point, we fix it properly — and tell you honestly if the leak is a symptom of a roof that’s reached the end of its life.
Where leaks come from

Metal flashing at walls, chimneys, and valleys is the most common leak point when it rusts, loosens, or was never sealed right.
