Yes. Standing-seam metal is one of the best-performing roofs in high wind because the panels interlock and the fasteners are concealed. Installed to the manufacturer’s spec for our wind zone, it holds up extremely well.
The opposite. Metal reflects a large share of the sun’s heat instead of absorbing it, which helps keep the attic cooler than a dark shingle roof.
Not with proper installation. Over a solid deck and underlayment, a metal roof is about as quiet as other roofs. The loud metal roofs people picture are usually panels over open framing on barns and sheds.
