What should I do first when I find water damage?
Stop the source if you can safely do it — shut the water off at the fixture or the main — and move what you can out of the way. Then call us. The faster the water comes out and drying starts, the less of your home it reaches and the smaller the repair.
How long does it take to dry out a home?
Most homes dry in about three to five days with commercial equipment running, though it depends on how much water there was, what got wet, and how long it sat. We monitor the moisture daily and don't start rebuilding until the readings say it's dry.
Do you handle the repairs, or just the water removal?
Both. Because we're a licensed general contractor, we take it all the way — water extraction and structural drying, then the rebuild: drywall, trim, flooring, and paint. You deal with one company from the first call to the final walk-through.
How do you know everything is actually dry?
We use moisture meters on the framing, subfloor, and drywall and track the readings across the drying period. We only close walls and floors back up once they've reached a normal, dry level — not just when the surface feels dry to the touch.
Can water damage turn into mold?
Yes. In our climate, materials that stay wet for a couple of days can start growing mold, often behind walls where you won't spot it right away. Drying the structure out properly is the main defense, and if mold is already present we can test for it and remediate.
